Press Release' for 2011

Without prejudice

July 1st, 2011.

Ryadia's wedding centre in Capalaba closes as business focus changes to brand recognition instead of company promotion.

Douglas and Margie Macdonald are please to announce the trademark we applied for last year - RYADIA™ - has been approved. At the same time we deeply regretted that the wedding centre venture we spent so much money on... Is not sustainable without more expensive repairs to the building we occupied.

We are unable to justify the cost of replacing windows and structural railings needed on the building the wedding centre occupied for it to comply with Workplace Health and Safety standards so... We've decided to close the wedding centre and go back to working from home until we can find a suitable building that does comply with regulations.

Ironically, the trademark 'Ryadia™' which we applied for last year, has been approved. Our plan to brand products we manufacture can now proceed. With this in mind, Margie will be running the magazine and Event promotion under her 'planning all weddings' business whilst Douglas will be concentrating on marketing the brand of Ryadia™ and Club Ryadia instead of promoting a wedding centre.

Both of us deeply regret the demise of Ryadia's wedding Centre. We had hoped to provide a base from which small and independent wedding professionals working from home could promote their business at a retail level. Perhaps if the Government had focused more on supporting small business and less on handing out money overseas, things might have been different. I guess its something to ponder at the next election. Having grown up during the last reign of Labour when home loans hit 20% interest, I know all too well the problems caused by socialist Governments.

But that's another matter altogether!

Sincerely,

Douglas and Margie.
